Who Qualifies for Free Home Care Services?
If you or a loved one are needing home care assistance (or are just exploring your options), let us help you find out if you qualify for FREE* home care! 96% of our 300+ clients are funded through Missouri Medicaid/MoHealthNet, which pays for the entire cost of services rendered - contingent on passing a needs-based health assessment that the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services utilizes to determine an overall "Level of Care" score. This is done by working hand-in-hand with your doctor(s) and/or specialists (where applicable).
To apply for Medicaid/MoHealthNet, go to https://mydss.mo.gov/healthcare/apply - once you're approved for Medicaid, you can call The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services at 866-835-3505 (have your Medicaid ID # ready) and they will walk you through the initial application for home care services. Or, you can call US and we can submit a referral on your behalf.
If you DO NOT qualify for Medicaid, there are still a few home care options for you. Are you a veteran who served at least 90 days on active duty, at least one day during wartime, with an honorable or general discharge? If so, you may qualify for our Veteran Directed Care Program! This program is funded through the Veteran's Administration.
(*Spend-down liability payments may still apply, depending on income).
If you do not qualify for the Medicaid and/or the Veteran Directed Care programs, we also offer Private Pay home care services at the current Medicaid rate per hour for personal care and respite services. RN visits are also offered at the current Medicaid rate per visit as well. (this includes weekly med setup, diabetic nail care, B12 shot injection assistance, and skin monitoring). Call us today for a quote for services and to find out how we can help you or your loved one get the care they need!

At this time, LIFE, Inc. DOES NOT offer any Medicare-funded or private insurance-funded home care services. We also DO NOT offer skilled home health care (including wound/dressing changes, post-surgical doctor-ordered physical/occupational therapies, or pic line flushes). Stay tuned for future updates!

Medication Assistance Program
If you do not have prescription drug coverage, we may be able to help. With your doctor's assistance, we can aid with enrollment in free or low-cost prescription drug programs. Even those prescribed temporary medications and have no other ways of obtaining them - we should be able to help reduce those costs in some way. Medications should be accessible to everyone!
Ramps & Housing Modifications
Participation in LIFE's CDS and/or In-Home program may make you eligible for the Center's other support services for independent living as well, including ramps, grab bars, medical equipment, etc. We also have various furniture and supplies donated from families and organizations throughout the area and may be available to you!
For those who qualify, we can assist in building ramps and/or making home modifications for a safe and accessible home environment. We have helped build FREE ramps, steps and additional accessibility/mobility modifications for hundreds of our consumers thanks to various grants and donations that we are VERY gracious to receive!
To find out if you qualify for a ramp or other housing modification, call us at 573-756-4314 and ask to complete an Intake Referral (and see if you meet the necessary criteria.)

Medical Equipment/Supply Program
In need of a wheelchair but can't afford one? Just had surgery and could use a cane but can't find a local medical equipment place that will honor your doctor's prescription for one? Or maybe your loved one recently fell and could greatly benefit from a shower chair? We have medical equipment donated to us periodically and may be able to help! We can loan out the mobility or accessibility equipment that you or your loved one needs (if available) and they can use it until they no longer need it! We also have a limited amount of adult incontinence supplies (pads, briefs, bed liners) for those in need. Or perhaps you have medical equipment that you'd like to get rid of - send it to us! We can even arrange for pick-up when transportation is not possible. We recycle the old donated equipment and lend it to those in need! All equipment is subject to availability. Please call 573-756-4314 and request to speak to the Independent Living department for any inquiries and/or donations. We can also provide you with a tax receipt for any donations made. We are grateful and appreciative of any donation!
