In-Home Services (IHS)

Our In-Home Services program offers assistance with everyday activities of daily living to help you remain independent in your own home. Don't have your own caregiver? No problem! Our In-Home Program staff can assist you in finding a talented and experienced caregiver who is sensitive to your care needs. LIFE In-Home provides qualified aides that will go to your home to complete a wide variety of services such as:  bathing, dressing, grooming, mobility assistance, toileting assistance, meal preparation and cleanup, as well as homemaker assistance (basic cleaning such as laundry assistance, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, taking out the trash, etc.)!

Our caregivers can also deliver RESPITE services (for clients who qualify) which includes supervision and companionship! We also offer NURSING services through our In-Home Program - where an RN or LPN will come to your home as often as once per week (depending on the frequency that you're authorized to have) and set-up/re-order medications, check your vitals, complete nail care for diabetic clients (or clients taking blood thinners), monitor skin condition, and pre-fill insulin syringes! ***OUR RN STAFF CANNOT COMPLETE WOUND CARE OR ANY POST-SURGICAL OR DOCTOR-ORDERED PHYSICAL OR OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIES***

Though In-Home Services are very similar to the Consumer-Directed Services Program, there are a few key differences. With In-Home, your caregiver earns a higher hourly rate ($13/hour starting on 1/1/22!) because they are required to complete a rigorous training process that includes quarterly meetings and check-ins with In-Home Administrative Staff. In-Home caregivers CANNOT drive clients anywhere, however, they can complete shopping and errands on behalf of the client. In-Home caregivers are assigned a schedule by administrative staff whereas CDS Caregivers have the freedom to set their own schedule with the client. Unlike the CDS program, you do NOT need to be able to direct your own care in order to receive services.

In-Home Services are funded through both Medicaid and VetAssist programs. Need help applying for either program? Visit https://mydss.mo.gov/healthcare/apply to apply for Medicaid.
